
Dr. Peter Michaelson has been a dentist for nearly 40 years and is thrilled to be a part of the amazing team at North Main Dental Group.
WHAT MADE DR. MICHAELSON DECIDE TO BE A DENTIST?
Dr. Michaelson was born into a dental family and grew up in Queens, New York. Having observed his father’s work, he believed he could outperform him and become a better dentist. However, he discovered that it was not as simple as he had imagined! This realization broadened his appreciation and understanding of his father’s efforts.
DR. MICHAELSON’S EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
He attended Yale University for an undergrad where he received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, and then the University of Connecticut for dental school, where he met Dr. Kulowski. Over the years, he has taken numerous continuing education courses, most recently Dentistry Update with the world-renowned dentist and dental researcher Dr. Gordon Christensen. Furthermore, Dr. Michaelson is a member of the Spear Study Group in Glastonbury, where general dentists and specialists discuss cases and various treatment plans in order to achieve the outcomes desired by both patients and dentists.
DR. MICHAELSON’S LIFE BEYOND THE DENTAL OFFICE
Outside of work, Dr. Michaelson enjoys music and volunteers at the University of Hartford’s radio station, WWUH 91.3 FM. On occasion, he hosts a jazz show there. He also enjoys watching movies and traveling in his spare time. He is excited to compete in Masters track and field, and he will even compete in the National Senior Games in Pittsburgh in July 2023.! He enjoys learning and made it to the second round of Jeopardy tryouts, where he hopes to appear one day.
